OUR DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

Laboratory tests are an effective tool for assessing your pet’s health status and preventing disease. Additionally, we have advanced diagnostic imaging equipment to produce images of your pet’s internal systems. This includes:

Whether your pet needs a routine checkup or has a condition requiring treatment, our diagnostic tools can help us find the right answers. Examining your pet internally allows us to detect subtle abnormalities and other changes that cannot be seen during a physical. Pet diagnostics always serve as the next step in a health evaluation following the physical, and we have several cutting-edge tools at our disposal.

Furthermore, our diagnostics play an important role in prevention. We can catch diseases and injuries in their early stages during your pet’s wellness exam, and prescribe a proactive treatment to stop their progression.

  • Laboratory Testing
Used for studying samples of blood, urine, or feces to check for parasites and evaluate overall health. Tests include complete blood count (CBC), blood chemistry, heartworm test, thyroid test (T4), and electrolytes. A majority of our laboratory tests are performed for pets that are ill and need quicker results. We typically send blood, urine and fecal samples to an outside laboratory for in-depth analysis.
  • Digital Radiography
We primarily use radiography to detect problems with the skeletal system, but it can also help us look for foreign bodies, tumors, and issues of the heart and lungs. Digital radiography is faster, more efficient, and produces clearer images than traditional film radiography, and allows us to save the images into a database so we can send them to specialists if needed.
  • Dental Radiography
Our dental radiography equipment gives us the ability to fully evaluate the condition of your pet’s mouth and check for damage below the gum line. Furthermore, it helps us detect bone loss and determine if any teeth need to be extracted.
  • Ultrasound
We utilize ultrasound to study the shape, size and texture of the internal organs. Unlike radiography, ultrasound uses soundwave echoes to create a real-time image of the organs. This technology helps us diagnose pregnancies, tumors, cysts, bladder stones, and other issues in the abdominal cavity. Our ultrasounds are performed by a board-certified radiologist.

We are pleased to have so many diagnostic tools available to help us care for our patients. Keeping your pet well is our highest priority, and our diagnostics allow us to do that and more. Request an Appointment:

To optimize our efficiency and reduce client waiting times, we prefer to operate primarily by appointments. Drop-off appointments may be requested by the pet owner to maximize his/her time or suggested by our staff if all appointments are filled for the day and the pet owner is wanting his animal evaluated or treated the same day.
