Dr. Michael Bailey

DVM

Dr. Bailey grew up in the small town of Wauchula, Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in zoology at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. He decided to stay for four more football seasons and is a 1998 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He worked in Destin and Orlando, Florida. In 2002, he became owner of Woodland Animal Clinic in DeLand and later added two more veterinary offices—Beachwood Animal Clinic in New Smyrna Beach and Volusia Woods Animal Clinic in Orange City.
He met his wife Dana while at Auburn, and they have three beautiful children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, waterskiing, hiking, cross fit, coaching his son’s football team, and spending time with his children. He is involved with the community and is a member of the Rotary Club of downtown DeLand.

Dr. Gabriel Farias

DVM

Dr. Gabriel Farias is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for animal care and a solid commitment to improving the health and well-being of pets. Originally from Costa Rica, Dr. Farias earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Veritas University in 2016, where he developed a deep appreciation for biodiversity and conservation—a reflection of his home country, renowned for its rich natural resources.

After obtaining his D.V.M., Dr. Farias fortified his credentials by receiving certification from the American Veterinary Medical Association through the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) in 2022. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and Sustainable Development from Costa Rica, which he completed in 2009.

Dr. Farias’s professional journey began in Ocala, Florida, where he worked in a vibrant veterinary practice. Subsequently, life and career led him to Miami, where he spent three years as a relief veterinarian, further honing his skills and expanding his veterinary knowledge. Recently, he found an irresistible opportunity to return to Ocala, where he is excited to serve the community again.

From an early age, Dr. Farias knew that his calling lay in animal care. He fondly remembers rescuing kittens as a child and nurturing a lifelong passion for animal health. This compassionate dedication is evident in every aspect of his work, as he strives to ensure that all creatures receive the care they deserve.

When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Farias enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring hiking trails, and immersing himself in nature. He is also an avid fan of movie soundtracks, biographical books, and science fiction novels, often getting lost in the stories behind the films he loves. At home, he shares his life with his wife Naomi, daughter Makaiah, and two beloved cats: Koshi, his loyal companion who found him during a clinic shift, and Zuzu, a charming rescue who, despite her lack of photogenic qualities, has stolen his heart.

Dr. Gabriel Farias Garita is proud to be part of Marion Veterinary Hospital and the veterinary community and looks forward to positively impacting the lives of both pets and their owners.

Dr. Sinclair

DVM

Dr. Sinclair was born in South Africa. After a brief period in Switzerland, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 11. Following her undergraduate studies, the family relocated to Florida, where she developed a strong attachment to the area.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Creighton University in Omaha, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Florida. Upon completion of her studies, Dr. Sinclair moved to Australia for a year to undertake an internship at an equine hospital. Upon returning to the U.S., she worked as an ambulatory equine vet in Ocala for several years before deciding to become a full-time mom and start her family.

Dr. Sinclair’s love for animals dates back to her childhood, as she grew up surrounded by both large and small animals. As of today, her furry family includes two boxers named Magnus and Jackson, as well as two Siamese cats, Sophie (affectionately known as the “little old lady”) and Sam (“the little fat kitty”). Additionally, she cares for two little ponymares named Lil and Fizzy.

When she’s not at work, you’re likely to find Dr. Sinclair tending to her garden at her farm in Ocala or spending quality time with her husband, two children, two dogs, two cats, and two horses. She looks forward to expanding her menagerie by venturing into beekeeping and adding chickens to their happy little zoo. Dr. Sinclair also has aspirations of growing as much as she can in the orchard behind their house.

Caley

Practice Manager

Caley was born in Fort Gratiot, MI on a horse farm and spent her childhood moving around Michigan. After college, she relocated to Florida and began her career as a vet assistant at a small animal clinic. Realizing her passion for animal care, she pursued further education at St. Petersburg College, where she completed the Veterinary Technician program and obtained her Associate’s degree to become a CVT. Following her graduation, Caley moved to Port Orange and joined Dr. Bailey’s Clinics, starting as a Veterinary Technician at Beachwood Animal Clinic and eventually becoming the lead tech. When the opportunity arose to become a practice manager at Marion Veterinary Hospital, she eagerly embraced the chance to advance her career. A.S.

Caley has a special fondness for her pets, including Shiva Diva, a loyal and loving dog, Pollyana, a sweet-tempered dog who is hard of hearing, and Mako Man, a spirited dog with a striking prance. She enjoys embarking on adventures with her pets, whether it’s boating, paddle boarding, hiking, or taking long car rides. In addition to her work with animals, Caley has a passion for travel and outdoor activities. She finds joy in being out on the water, engaging in activities like fishing, boating, and running with her dogs. Caley’s active lifestyle extends to pursuing home projects and staying on the move, as she finds it hard to sit still for long.

Sandra

Vet Technician

Hello everyone! My journey here started in August 2022 when my daughter and I made the move and found our little slice of paradise with a home and some lovely property.

My connection with animals goes way back to my childhood – I’ve always felt a special bond with them. That passion led me to veterinary medicine in 2006, and I officially became a technician in 2009. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to wear many different hats within the hospital, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of how everything works.

At home, I have my own fun-loving crew. There’s my spirited two-year-old Rottweiler, and her best buddy, Cuca, our energetic rat terrier puppy. It’s endlessly entertaining watching them play together, proving that friendship truly comes in all sizes!

Outside of work, you’ll often find me enjoying life on my little farm, surrounded by all my animals and spending quality time in the saddle with my horses. And when we’re looking for a bit of magic, my daughter and I love making memories at Disney! I’m excited to bring my experience and love for animals to Marion Veterinary Hospital and look forward to caring for your wonderful pets.

Angelina

Vet Tech Assistant

A lifelong passion for veterinary medicine, nurtured by my vet tech mom, has brought me to Marion Veterinary Hospital. After moving from Missouri to Florida, I’m thrilled to be pursuing my dream. My personal pets, Mabel (a resilient dog) and Luna (a sweet cat), keep life interesting. When not caring for animals at the clinic, I love exploring Florida’s outdoors. I’m eager to meet you and your furry companions!

Madison

Vet Tech Assistant/Kennel Tech

An Ocala native with a lifelong passion for animals! Inspired by my rescue dog Georgia May, I’m thrilled to be starting my career in veterinary medicine and am currently studying to become a CVT through Penn Foster. I’m eager to learn and grow in a hospital where I can provide loving care to all creatures. When I’m not focused on animals, you can find me enjoying the Florida sunshine or lost in a good book. My furry family includes Georgia May, Miss Bea, and Salem.

Julie

CSR

My path to veterinary medicine has taken me from my birthplace in San Antonio, Texas, through New Jersey, and finally to sunny Florida in 2024. It was in Princeton, NJ, where my passion for animal care truly blossomed through volunteering at a local shelter, leading to a rewarding year as a veterinary technician and subsequent experience at an animal hospital. I am deeply committed to providing compassionate care, a value reflected in my own family of unique pets: Stevie, Nova,

Gotham, and Froot (my cats), and Dante (my dog). In my free time, I enjoy creating memories with my husband and son, often exploring the exciting theme parks of the Orlando area.

Monique

Groomer

With roots in Wisconsin, I relocated to Florida two years ago, bringing with me a deep-seated love for animals cultivated since childhood. My professional grooming career took flight in 2014 after completing the PetSmart Academy, and I’ve since broadened my expertise across various settings, including salons, mobile units, house calls, and now within a veterinary hospital. Growing up in a home filled with a menagerie of pets – from dogs and cats to more unique companions – instilled in me a comprehensive understanding of diverse animal needs. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and I share my life with my beloved chihuahua mix, Bear, and pittie mix, Penny. My goal is to provide a positive and stress-free grooming experience for every patient under our care. When I’m not working, I enjoy outdoor adventures with my daughters and exploring the rewarding aspects of homesteading.
